Given what I’ve experienced, it came as no surprise that the virulent anti-Asian racism (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/25-percent-asian-american-youths-racist-bullying-n1240380) of the early pandemic was dismissed. Across the country, brutality went viral — notably, an Asian American family stabbed in a Sam’s Club (https://www.kxan.com/news/crime/report-sams-club-stabbing-suspect-thought-family-was-chinese-infecting-people-with-coronavirus/) in Midland, Texas. But around the U.S. and indeed the world heinous attacks (https://news.yahoo.com/hate-crimes-against-asian-americans-235725195.html) were spiking. In less than a year, the animus seems to have coalesced in the death of Vicha Ratanapakdee (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/string-attacks-against-older-asians-leaves-big-city-chinatowns-edge-n1257157), an 84-year-old Thai American who was murdered in San Francisco on Jan. 31.

Il problema è che i demo hanno creato tutto questo per disfarsi di Trump, e ha funzionato.

Sì, nel sistema americano c'è sempre stata la libertà di costruire un curriculum che andasse alla velocità dello studente, se questo studente era in grado di padroneggiare certe materie meglio e prima dei compagni. Ad esempio chi puntava a una laurea in ingegneria, poteva durante le superiori scegliere i cosiddetti corsi avanzati e accumulare crediti (nonché presentarsi al college con un vantaggio, stante la durata quadriennale più rigida rispetto al 3+2 italiano, per quanto riguarda i tempi effettivi :bua:)
Facendo come nel link, di fatto "trattieni" i migliori, tenendoli al passo di quelli più lenti. Il risultato è penalizzarli più tardi perché rispetto alla concorrenza formatasi negli altri Stati, si presentano all'università con una preparazione di livello più basso. A meno di non volerli costringere (come ipotizza qualcuno nei commenti) a seguire corsi in istituzioni private... cosa che sarebbe sia uno squallido racket sia l'ennesimo modo per separare i poveri ma bravi dai bravi ma un po' meno poveri.
durante i primi anni delle elementari vicino miami entrai nella classe avanzata di matematica.
c'è da dire che stavo con gente che non sapeva fare lo spelling di zia.

Such interventions can reasonably aim only to reshape Whiteness’s infiltrated appetites—to reduce their intensity, redistribute their aims, and occasionally turn those aims toward the work of reparation.
When remembered and represented, the ravages wreaked by the chronic condition can function either as warning (“never again”) or as temptation (“great again”).
Memorialization alone, therefore, is no guarantee against regression.
There is not yet a permanent cure.
