C64 development today
Hobby software development for the Commodore 64 is regaining its popularity. More and more folks (including myself) are returning to code, write music and pixel graphics for this vintage instrument. My intention with this article is to get YOU (the c64 enthusiast) active again. It’s time to show that you’re still the coder, musician, graphican who you used to be.

STAR TREK (1971)
Star Trek is a text-based strategy video game based on the Star Trek television series and originally developed by Mike Mayfield in 1971. In the game, the player commands the USS Enterprise on a mission to hunt down and destroy an invading fleet of Klingon warships. The player travels through the 64 quadrants of the galaxy to attack enemy ships with phasers and photon torpedoes in turn-based battles and refuel at starbases in order to eliminate all enemies before running out of time....:

HOW TO PLAY ?
Without possibly complicating our experience using "exotic" emulators (...assuming they do exist), Tom Almy converted the source code to play it in DOS (minimum 80386). To play in DOS window using Win10 you have to use the NT version:
Enjoy!

Here's a brochure from MOS Technology. It's the MCS6500 announcement.
International Center for the History of Electronic Games:
When we say that The Strong Museum cares for more than 1,000 linear ft. of video game-related archival material, people (rightly) think of things like design docs, concept art, scripts...things like that. But every now and then, our archivist Julia comes across gems like this memo! Part of the Joel Billings’ Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI) papers: http://archives.museumofplay.org/rep...3/resources/22
Certo, come no, ora dovrei pure credere che i programmatori siano organismi viventi

Ancora Dragon .
It's the first Dragon 32 with **integrated** WiFi! The little board (kudos to Phill Harvey-Smith for that) replicates the Dragon 64's serial circuitry, but with the additional socket for an ESP-01. Now I can use AT commands to telnet across the Internet

Multi-Platform Arcade Game Designer 0.7.7 (Windows)
This is a Windows program that turns programs written in a simple scripting language into assembly language. There are editors for sprites, blocks, screen layouts, there is even a script generator allowing the user to get started with some common templates. The language is considerably more powerful than the Spectrum and CPC versions with WHILE loops, collectable blocks, READ, DATA and much more. AGD will produce games for the Spectrum, MSX, Amstrad CPC, BBC, Dragon 32/64, Acorn Atom, Enterprise and Timex Sinclair/Next with more machines in the pipeline. Fancy importing an old game written with AGD 4 and converting it to use Timex graphics on the Next, or perhaps doing an Amstrad conversion? It's easy with this tool! Now with support for VZ200 and Acorn Atom 4 colour mode. The latest update comes with a new improved font editor, complete with 12 fantastic fonts designed by Damien Guard. MPAGD can do far more than AGD ever could. You can even build a game for the 16K Spectrum! The latest version features a new F5 keyboard shortcut, which builds your game then automatically fires up an emulator to test your creations on.
