George Floyd’s Girlfriend Says Opioid Addiction Was a Struggle They Shared
like so many Americans, the couple had a shared struggle: opioid addiction.
“Our story, it’s a classic story of how many people get addicted to opioids,” she said. “We both struggled from chronic pain. Mine was in my neck and his was in his back.”
Over the nearly three-year, on-and-off relationship between Mr. Floyd and Ms. Ross, there were periods where they were clean, followed by relapse. When they could not obtain prescriptions for opioids from doctors, she said, they bought drugs on the streets.
Ms. Ross told Mr. Nelson that they relapsed together last spring, and that Mr. Floyd was hospitalized for several days in March after she found him doubled over in pain from an overdose. Later that month, she thought they had both managed to quit again, but in the weeks before he died in May, a change in Mr. Floyd’s behavior made her think he had again begun using.
“We got addicted and tried really hard to break that addiction many times,” she said. “When you know someone who suffers from any type of addiction, you can start to kind of see changes when they’re using again.”

George Floyd’s girlfriend Courteney Ross revealed in court that they both purchased opioids from a friend who was in the passenger seat of Floyd’s car on the day he died and is now refusing to testify at Derek Chauvin’s murder trial, Daily Mail reported.
The friend, Morries Lester Hall, a key witness for the state, filed a shocking notice on Wednesday stating that he plans to invoke the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination, meaning that he will not testify.
When Ross was cross-examined by Chauvin’s attorney Eric Nelson on Thursday, jurors heard that Hall sold controlled substances to both her and Floyd and that she ‘did not like Morries at all’.

According to evidence submitted to the court in the ongoing State of Minnesota vs Derek Michael Chauvin case, George Floyd was peddling large quantities of controlled substances and swallowed drugs to escape arrest in 2019. He had to be hospitalized for drug overdose where he admitted to snorting oxycodone daily.
The incident occurred on May 6, 2019 and facts and circumstances detailed in the court documents filed in the Minnesota District Court says:
At that time Mr. George Floyd was engaged in the sale and possession of large quantities of controlled substances. When approached by police he placed drugs in his mouth in an attempt to avoid arrest, and swallowed them. When interacting with police he engaged in diversionary behavior such as crying and acted irrationally. An ambulance was called to transport Mr. Floyd to the hospital.
Floyd had to be hospitalized for drug overdose where he even admitted to snorting oxycodone daily.

Lo so perché l'ho subita in fase addestrativa.
