Insomniac ha confermato che l'edizione PS4 di Miles Morales sarà assolutamente cross-save con la versione PS5, al contrario della remastered del gioco base. E lo stesso è per Marvel's Avengers, stando a quanto detto da SE lo scorso giugno (“those who move the saved games on the next-gen consoles will be able to transfer player profiles and progress so as to resume from where they stopped"). Questo per dire che - fino a prova contraria - il discorso sull'update non è una regola e potrà variare da gioco a gioco. Finora i titoli che sicuramente non supporteranno il cross-save, oltre a Marvel's Spider-Man, sono Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Dirt 5 ("on PlayStation, your playgrounds creations can be carried over, but other game progress - Career, Currency, Saved Liveries - cannot. If that changes, we'll let you know!") e Maneater ("This is a separate application/game on PlayStation 5 and Trophies, stats, and saves will not transfer."). A quanto pare è una scelta che Sony ha delegato agli stessi sviluppatori, resta da vedere come si comporteranno Ubisoft e CDProject.
