As you may have noticed in Task Manager before, service hosts can contain a lot of services:

2. Increase transparency: Task Manager will now give you a better view into what is going on behind the scenes. You can now see how much CPU, Memory, Disk & Network individual services are consuming.

   To see the name of the service, click on the left-most arrow such that the Display name drops down.
   Alternatively, right-click on the header and select ‘Command Line’ to add the Command Line column. Service names will be listed in the format ‘svchost.exe -k <svchost name> -s <service name>.’
3. Reduce servicing costs: Following reports of instability, service engineers, IT admins, and Microsoft engineers can rapidly pinpoint issues to the exact service and fix it.
4. Increase security: Process isolation and individual permission sets for services will increase security.

Note that critical system services (services whose recovery require system restarts), as well as a couple of select service hosts, will remain grouped.

Sul 10, ok, ma sul 7 di Enriko principalmente era il servizio di Windows update a far schiantare tutto

Sarà stato Windows Update a crear fastidi, ma Svchost è una marea di servizi diversi... da Win2000...

Si si, quello lo so, però anche a me su pc con win7 dava gli stessi problemi, però una volta tolti gli aggiornamenti automatici il processo tornava a stare calmo

al momento ha win 7 e va discretamente, se non fosse che ha un processo svchost che ciclicamente tende a partire e a saturare la ram...e non riesco a porvi rimedio...(di norma sta sotto 1gb di ram usata (poco più) con l'uso di applicazioni "standard"...

Vai tranquillo, anche con 2 GB di Ram.
Installato su un laptop con T7500 e va bene. Di rado Windows avvisa che la Ram è piena, ma solo se si sono aperti 5-6 programmi pesanti.
Ah, un SSD è caldamente consigliato :asd:

Ok...allora intanto provo a disattivare update...
se volessi piallare anche windows essential (che è installato e attivo) che ci posso mettere di free?..qualcosa di decente e non troppo pesante viste le risorse limitate del sistema?

Win10 lo terrei come ultima risorsa anche perchè windows 7 ha la sua licenza, 10 dovrei rimediarne una...

Disattivare gli update ha conseguenze... e qualsiasi cosa è più pesante di Essentials...

ok...però sembra essere il modo più facile per risolvere il problema, perchè quando parte Svchost si frega praticamente tutta la ram...schizza a 1,2...1,4gb...praticamente risultano occupati 1,8+ gb di ram su 2...(considerando che 128mb sono riservati alla scheda video)...

Beh notizia discretamente grossa, potrebbe smontare lo status quo...

Secondo me è semplice (si fa per dire) risposta al fatto che Intel non sviluppa adeguatamente l'Atom (soprattutto dopo aver gettato la spugna per i telefoni) ed ha prezzi allucinanti per i Core m (Ultra Low Voltage).

Non so se lo sapete, comunque e' ancora possibile fare l'upgrade da 7/8 a 10 gratis...

Oggi ho provato a installare win 10 su un pc pulito dove c'e sempre stato Windows 7 Home.. Durante l'installazione pulita (non upgrade) di windows 10 mi e' stato richiesto il serial e ho inserito quello di 7...
Ha macinato un po e poi e' andato avanti...
All'apertura di windows poi mi sono ritrovato tutto attivato con chiave digitale :) :) :)

Ho fatto la chiavetta USB con il tool scaricato ieri dal sito Microsoft.. Credo che sia partito dalla 1511 perché poi mi son dovuto scaricare la 1607 da win update

Mi sembra un po' strano... :uhm:
Non è che Update ha scaricato l'aggiornamento cumulativo periodico? Nel nome viene riportato il numero della versione di Windows a cui si applica.

Pensandoci la 1607 non dovrebbe proprio accettare più le key di Win7/8, quindi deve aver usato una precedente.

ho ancora la iso (che ho scaricato con il tool di microsoft...) provo a vedere se dentro c'e qualche file che mi possa aiutare a capire se ho usato la 1511 o la 1607 :D
