To our Age of Empires III Explorers,

Last year as part of the New Year New Age event we announced another DLC for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. After serious consideration, this DLC has been canceled.

Please understand, this decision was not made lightly.

We apologize that we haven’t provided updates to you since our announcement of the DLC. While considering the inclusions for last year’s show, we wanted to ensure that Age III: DE players felt part of the franchise celebration as we know you have huge passion and love for the game. However, pushing to ensure that the game was included meant we announced content before it had been built, and we now feel that announcement was premature.

We know that this is a huge disappointment, and many of you were excited for more content. We were able to put out a patch for the game towards the end of last year but understand that it was not the size and scope you were hoping for.

It has been a joy to bring Age of Empires III into the modern day with the Definitive Edition and all the content we’ve added since launch in October 2020. We hope you continue to enjoy everything it has to offer. Seeing what content our community creates is a fantastic part of working on this franchise and our modders continue to surprise us. Whilst we will not be moving forwards with this DLC content for Age III: DE , we will continue to maintain servers, rotate civs through the free trial version, and provide Customer Support for any issues you may encounter whilst playing.

Ed è un peccato perché è un gran bel giocone.

Avrebbe avuto bisogno di più campagne, le campagne saranno sempre il cuore di questi giochi, la maggioranza silenziosa a quello gioca.

Hanno cancellato il dlc che annunciarono a gennaio dello scorso anno (polonia-danimarca) e comunicato che non ci saranno nuovi contenuti ma solo patch, rotazione mappe, ecc...

Io da quello che ho letto mi sembrava di aver capito "fine del supporto", nel senso che ti lasciamo il multi e ti fixiamo i bug critici ma nient'altro.

mi sono giocato la campagna DLC dei cinesi e l'ho trovata parecchio sotto tono, rispetto alle altre

storia meh, missioni niente di che (oltre ad un paio a tempo, che ODIO come meccanica), civiltà noiosetta, unità mitiche niente di che

qualche bug di troppo nel pathfindings, con unità che si bloccavano e ciaone..

molto deluso dalla mancanza di una colonna sonora adeguata all'atmosfera. Confidavo in nuove tracce orientali, invece hanno riciclate quelle base del gioco

20 euro per questa espansione è una ladrata, soprattutto contando che il gioco base ne costa 30 a 10 euro tanto tanto..

A core element of these battles is that players are scored and ranked by their performance through an associated medal system, meaning we had to take a fundamentally different approach to the mission design. In the classic campaign format, missions are more linear with a singular focus on describing the actual event. With Historical Battles, we have filled the maps with secrets, traps and more to promote exploration. This leads to the battles being puzzle-like in nature, which means that it’s not a “play once and be done with it” experience, but instead a mode that challenges you to optimize your play over repeated attempts. Players looking for an additional level of challenge have the option of unlocking Conqueror mode based on decisions made during the mission.

non ce la fanno proprio a fare un DLC con una campagna/storia eh e pensare che gli altri capitoli che stanno andando parecchio dimostrano che i giocatori vogliono la campagna

E' a mani basse l'rts singleplayer migliore sulla piazza.

L'unicità di unità ed edifici è una cosa che ho sempre desiderato in AoE2, pian piano ci stanno arrivando...

Ha senso da giocare in singolo? Ricordo che ci ho giocato un po' tipo 20 anni fa, ma ricordo che le campagne erano un po' così, con non troppa varietà.
